WHY A HANDCRAFTED CAPSULE?
As with all of sE's true condensers, the sE8’s gold-sputtered capsule is handcrafted and hand-tuned by skilled technicians in our own factory. This is highly unusual for mics at this price, and is a great point of pride for us.
Building and tuning a capsule is a subtle, artistic process, and given the scale of the vibrations which they must perceive, this is the most vital element of the mic.
sE8 Matched Pair
As with all of our factory-matched pairs, every mic ending up in a sE8 Stereo Pair configuration is hand-selected from hundreds of individual microphones.
This ensures identical performance and the highest possible mic-to-mic consistency, so you can rest assured that your stereo image will be as clear & accurate as possible.
The sE8 Matched Pair comes complete with a precision stereo mounting bar, two protective wind screens, two mic clips, and a robust high-quality metal flight case.

Traditionally, acoustical treatments have been expensive propositions, requiring extensive testing and construction on various surfaces. With the advent of project and small satellite studios, innovative techniques have surfaced to deal with the economics and practicality of treating those acoustic situations. The Reflexion Filter PRO from sE-Electronics is one such unique product. A curved baffle made of six different layers (plus an air barrier); the filter is positioned behind any microphone by means of a variable-position, stand clamp assembly. This reduces the amount of acoustic energy hitting any untreated walls, in addition to which, less of the original source is reflected back to the microphone as unwanted room ambience. The unit is portable, allowing the user to bring their own acoustical treatment to any environment. The included mounting setup attaches to any microphone stand, and provides a sufficient degree of flexibility for adjusting both the position of the microphone and the filter. Recommendations for use include vocals, horns and reeds, guitar, voice-over, percussion and live location microphones.Construction Layers • Punched aluminum for diffusing sound waves • Sound-absorptive wool • Aluminum foil for breaking up lower frequency wave-forms • An air gap acting as an acoustic barrier • Additional sound-absorptive wool • Another layer of punched aluminum • Four formed panels of state-of-the-art specialized acoustic absorptive material, separated from the main unit via a small air gap Specifications:Dimensions (WxDxH) 14-1/2 x 8 x 12" (368 x 203 x 305mm)Weight 8 lbs (3.6 kg) For more information, please visit this products webpage.
SPACE takes the Reflexion Filter to another dimension!
sE Electronics SPACE takes the patented Multi-Layer Air-Gap technology that made the RF Pro a professional and project studio essential to create a product that is both bigger and better!
While other manufacturers haven't even come close to replicating the design and performance of the RF Pro, we've now set the bar even higher. SPACE or Specialised Portable Acoustic Control Environment, has a larger surface area, designed to offer incredible isolation in any room for professional vocal and instrument recordings. By surrounding more of the microphone, SPACE limits the amount of direct sound reaching walls and, ultimately, reflecting back towards the microphone.
SPACE's design consists of an unprecedented 10 thick layers of sE's patented Multi-Layer Air-Gap technology, and the inclusion of seven new vertical bass pillars deepens the air gaps while adding randomisation of diffusion. SPACE also boasts new mounting hardware, providing a more robust clamp that's fully adjustable and lockable vertically and horizontally with the ability to tilt for instrument recording at any angle.
sE Electronics Project Studio Reflexion FilterThe Project Studio RF uses the same basic design as the Pro version, and while it can never be fully as effective as its more expensive big brother, it easily ouut performs copies and for project studio use is just the job. The metal frame is lined with the same patented polyester fibreboard as the Pro version uses for its outer layer. This material has extremely good acoustic absorbtion properties; much better than simple foam products. This is then further lined with a high density 'crystal' foam with curved undulations rather the cheaper and less effective ribbed, medium density foams that are widely used by other companies. The result is a product which looks fantastic and 'sounds' even better when recording vocals and acoustic guitars... its not an RF Pro, but it's the best of the rest!

sE's best-selling 2200a II is back in black.
The original 2200a has been used by countless artists worldwide, and the updated 2200a II continues the tradition in both cardioid and multi-pattern versions.
sE's best-selling, multiple-award-winning, GRAMMY-singer-recording cardioid mic has been given a facelift and a feature update.
With the same hand-built brass capsule as the original, the Mark II version of this modern classic adds a multi-pattern version, a clever quick-release shockmount with integrated pop filter, and a non-reflective black finish.
THE HAND-CRAFTED CAPSULE
At the heart of the 2200a II is the hand-built, hand-tuned brass capsule that put sE on the map as a serious microphone manufacturer. With a gold-sputtered center-terminated diaphragm (two of these back-to-back on the multi-pattern version), the 2200a II's capsule is built in the same style as the vintage European capsules that have been used and loved for many decades.
Manufactured, assembled, and individually tested in-house by our team of skilled capsule technicians, these capsules are the soul of the 2200a II.
If all you need is a cardioid polar pattern - most vocals will only require this - the 2200a II C is a great choice.
But if you want to experiment with different amounts of room sound, various instruments, or multiple sound sources, the multiple pattern controls of the 2200a II are a valuable asset.
In addition to the standard -10dB setting, the multi pattern 2200a II includes a -20dB setting for additional low-frequency control.
CUSTOM SHOCKMOUNT
Part of the 2200a II's update can be seen in the clever new quick-release Isolation Pack shockmount. With the twist of a single knob, the mount attaches quickly and securely to the microphone, and is removable with the same simple motion. This allows the mic to be set up quickly and easily - no adjustments, no hassle.
The Isolation Pack also comes equipped with sE's curved metal pop filter, which efficiently slots in to the shockmount and is vertically adjustable for best performance.
