Analog audio over Cat 5 wiringThe Catapult TX4 and RX4 act like a typical four-channel analog audio snake; they allow you to send mic or line-level signals from one location to another without signal loss, noise, or interference, and without any digital audio conversion needed. What makes the Catapult system unique is that it utilizes Cat 5 Ethernet cable, which is widely available, lightweight, and economical. Simply connect a shielded Cat 5 cable between any two Catapult modules and they will use the analog conductors in the cable to deliver four balanced audio lines to any destination.
Straight-wire passive operationCatapult modules require no power to operate, and since they keep the signal in the analog realm, no digital conversion is necessary. Straight-wire connection from the XLRs to the RJ45 connector on a Cat 5 cable ensures that your audio passes through without coloration or distortion.
Utilize pre-existing cable installationsAs many buildings are already pre-wired for Cat 5, you can take advantage of this to transmit audio between distant rooms without the need to install or supply new cabling. This eliminates the need for bulky and expensive multi-channel audio cable, and allows contractors to benefit from installed network cable and easily connect from one room to another.
Mix & Match to add transformer isolationAll of the Radial Catapult modules are compatible with each other, and each is sold individually, so you can select whichever combination best suits your needs. The Catapult RX4 and TX4 can be used together as a pair, creating a 4-channel audio snake. However, if you need transformer isolation to prevent hum and buzz when splitting audio signals, two additional models of Catapults are available. The TX4L and RX4L have line level isolation transformers for splitting playback tracks or outputs to amp racks, while the TX4M and RX4M can be employed when splitting mic signals on stage. Use any combination of these six models, along with the compact Catapult Mini RX and TX to create a custom snake designed for your unique application.
Analog audio over Cat 5 wiringThe Catapult Mini System works like a typical four-channel analog audio snake; they allow you to send mic or line-level signals from one location to another without signal loss, noise, or interference, and without any digital audio conversion needed. Select the best mic & preamp combination
Passive 'straight wire' color-free signal path
Built-in 48V phantom power for condenser mics
Improve the workflow efficiency in your studio
The Radial Cherry Picker is a unique tool designed to improve efficiency and workflow in the studio by simplifying the process of matching the best preamp with a microphone for a given track. This is most often done when recording vocals. This improves the sonic character of the track and provides the vocalist with a more comfortable sound, which in turn allows for a better performance.
Four front panel 'radio style' selector switches select the active preamp while automatically disconnecting the mic from the others. Completely passive and 100% discrete, the Cherry Picker features a 'straight wire' signal path. There is no active circuitry whatsoever in between the mic signal and the preamp. The audio signal switching is performed by a series of military-grade gold contact sealed relays for zero coloration and distortion to ensure a fair and honest comparison between preamps.
The rear panel is equipped with a balanced XLR input for the microphone and four balanced XLR outputs to feed the various preamps. When using a studio condenser, the Cherry Picker internally generates 48V phantom power so that switching between preamps will not disrupt the phantom power going to the microphone. This could otherwise cause severe popping in the audio system and headphones. Separate ground lift switches for each output help reduce noise by eliminating ground loops plus a handy mute switch turns all outputs off, enabling the engineer to leave the preamp settings untouched when testing out other mics.
The Cherry Picker... a tool designed to improve performance, sound and workflow at the same time.
The Cube™ is a three module desktop power rack designed to bring the fun and excitement of 500 series modular audio to everyone!Unlike other 500 series enclosures that are usually rack mounted, The Cube™ is designed to sit on the desktop or be carried around the studio using the convenient top-mounted handle. This enables the engineer to position instrument and microphone preamps as close to the source as possible for improved signal to noise. The Cube can also be recessed into the work surface using the optional mounting flanges. These allow either flush mounting or 30° angle mounting to optimize viewing position.Following the criteria established by the Radial Workhorse, the PowerStrip is 100% backwards compatible with older API modules while being optimized for Radial's expanding range of preamps, processors and routing devices. Construction begins with a 14 gauge steel frame and features dual gold contact EDAC 15-pin connectors for optimal signal transfer. To maximise headroom, the external supply delivers 500mA of current for power hungry modules plus a separate 48V phantom tap delivers a full 10mA of current for microphone preamps. Rear panel connectivity includes standard XLRs for each slot along with ¼" TRS connectors for multing modules, cross patching and parallel processing. Instead of the traditional 'hardwire patch' system employed by others, The Cube employs an innovative feed function that patches modules together in series without the need of a cable. And stereo modules no longer need to be soldered to be paired, they can now be sync'd together using a simple switch. The Cube is also equipped with Omniport on each sot. This TRS jack enables the module manufacturer to implement a unique function for a given module such as a key input on a gate. Features:
Desktop power rack houses three 500 series modules
Compatible with Radial and older API systems
Provides up to 500 milliamps of shared current
Optional angles let you recess it into the table top

Quick and easy mid/side recording without a mixer
Three ultra-quiet built-in mic preamps
Pre-mixed stereo outputs
Line level operation for use with pre-recorded tracks
The Radial Decoder is a microphone preamp and mid/side stereo matrix that allows the user to easily create M/S recordings without having to re-configure a recording console. Featuring built-in mic pre's with phantom power and independent level control, the Decoder automatically combines the signals to a stereo output using the sum-difference method for spectacular stereo imaging that translates well to mono for broadcast.
The Decoder begins with three ultra-quiet microphone preamps. The mic/line input-1 is assigned to the MID or direct microphone, while mic/line input-2a is assigned to the SIDE microphone. A link button automatically duplicates and pans the signal and flips the phase for a traditional M/S stereo image when used with figure-8 microphones. Mic/line input-2b allows the Decoder to be used with a pair of cardioid microphones rather than a figure-8. This opens up the door for a variety of microphones and different spacing techniques to be employed for ultimate convenience and creativity. The Decoder can also be switched to +4dBu line level for Reamping™ pre-recorded material during mix-down. Simply record a SIDE microphone while tracking and bounce to a stereo M/S image later.
As the Decoder is intended for use in the studio or in the field, the chassis is built out of heavy duty 14-gauge steel. The internal I-beam frame and book-end construction prevents premature damage to internal circuitry and protects knobs and switches from impact. A full bottom no-slip pad provides electrical insulation and mechanical isolation to reduce mishap. The chassis can also be rack- mounted on its own or with other Radial products using an optional rack kit.
The Decoder… mid/side recording has never been so easy!

The Gold Digger is a 4-channel mic selector that enables the engineer to quickly compare the sound of four different microphones while sharing the same preamp. A 'straight wire' passive circuit design is void of any audio buffers or transformers. Instead, the Gold Digger employs military grade gold contact relays to manage the switching process, thus ensuring the pristine mic signal is maintained without introducing color, distortion or artefact of any kind.
Features include four rear-mounted XLR-F mic inputs plus an XLR-m output to feed the preamp. To eliminate bleed between microphones, each channel is equipped with a 'radio style' selector switch that ensures only one mic is on at a time. The external supply provides power for the LED indicators, charges the relays and enables the Gold Digger to generate 48 volt phantom which can be turned on or off for each mic as needed. To ensure an 'honest' comparison between microphones, individual 'set & forget' trim controls let you adjust each mic level so that they produce the same relative output. Once set up, the Gold Digger not only improves workflow, but also gives the artist more confidence with the sound of the vocal, resulting in a better overall performance.
The Gold Digger – A tool designed to get the very best out of each and every performance.

100% discrete class-A active direct box
Feed forward design – no negative feedback
Drag™ control load correction for natural tone
Huge 30-Volt rails for exceptional headroom
The Radial JDV Mk5 is a high performance active direct box and preamp with two inputs that enables the user to seamlessly transition from one instrument to another while being able to optimize the signal chain no matter what the source.
The design begins with 100% discrete electronics and a unique class-A circuit with zero phase-cancelling negative feedback front-end. This is augmented with Drag™ control load correction that lets you optimize the impedance that is being applied to the pickup along with extra rail voltage for an abundance of headroom. The result is virtually zero harmonic, phase and cross-point distortion resulting in the most natural rendering without coloration or artifact of any type.
Central to the design is the JDV's ability to handle any type of instrument. Input-1 is equally well suited for magnetic pickups or active instruments and is equipped with a balanced mic input with 48V phantom to accept instrument-mounted condenser mics. Input-2 adds another dimension with a selectable 10 meg-ohm input to properly load piezo transducers. Both inputs may be active at one time and mixed together using the front panel controls. These can then be phase-aligned using the built-in Radial Phazer for what can only be deemed the most natural sounding reproduction of an acoustic instrument ever.
Extra features include fully variable high-pass filters on each channel to eliminate excessive low frequency resonance, easy-read LED level meters, Jensen Transformer isolated outputs to eliminate hum and buzz caused by ground loops and a +4dB line level output for direct recording. Switching between channels may be done using a front panel switch or via the optional JR-2 remote control.
The Radial JDV Mk5... the only DI you will never hear!
Features:
Captures sound of both the head and the cabinet
Delivers consistent tone - show after show
Works equally well on electric guitar and bass
Can be used with 48V phantom power or DC supply
The Radial JDX 48 Reactor is a direct box designed to capture the explosive dynamics and warmth of an electric guitar amplifier by connecting between the guitar amp head and speaker cabinet. This delivers a sound that is similar to a well-placed microphone while eliminating the frustrating inconsistencies.
The design begins with 100% discrete class-A circuitry and a transformer-coupled 'reactive load' that captures both the sound from the amp head along with the back electromagnetic impulse from the loudspeaker. This produces a more realistic rendering than the usual resistive pad offered by other manufacturers. The signal is then processed via a carefully designed multi-stage filter to emulate the tone of a 4x12 half stack cabinet.
In use, the JDX 48 delivers greater consistency over a typical microphone as irregularities such as mic placement and varying acoustics no longer play the dominant role on stage. This is most appreciated when using in-ear monitors as the tone remains consistent from one show to the next, resulting in shorter setup times and a more comfortable audio feed for the artist.
Although originally designed for guitar, the JDX has also become a favorite on bass. The clarity and punch in the lower midrange delivers a tone that is reminiscent of an Ampeg SVT connected to an 8x10 cabinet. On guitar it sounds as if you have a Shure SM57 in front of a Marshall half-stack. This new version also offers greater power handling for 300 watt amps and extended low end for deep bass frequencies.
The JDX 48 Reactor… the most natural sounding amp DI ever!
