In March 1970 the first 1073 module was launched and became the standard in 80 series consoles. The 1066 was gradually replaced in newly shipped consoles and finally disappeared. The 1073 featured almost the same identical circuitry, being the most relevant differences the hi frequency shelving ( 12Khz instead of 10Khz ) and the equalizer´s mid band, which had one more center frequency, but lacked the constant Q of the 1066 . Vintage module connoisseurs do know how sweet the 1066mid band sounds and, for some, something was lost in the way. Until now...The 6673 module is the answer to an old question among vintage module users. Should I use a 1073 or a 1066 for this specific source material? Should I need to boost at 700 Hz or would it be better to cut at 360 Hz? Should I need 12Khz or would it probably better to add 10Khz instead? These and a lot more questions that have become "classic" in some professional environments have a new answer.Heritage Audio is proud to introduce the 6673 module. A 100% series 80 compatible module featuring the same Class A mic preamplifier found in the classic modules with an added key feature: A 4 BAND EQUALIZER. Better said, THE 4 band equalizer as it features the same exact 3 band equalizer circuit found in the famous 1073 plus the mid band found in the 1066.In addition, we have expanded the 1073 mid band with 3 extra frequency choices, widening the sonic palette. Now you can boost at 700 Hz for "thick as a brick" guitars and cut at 360 Hz to get rid of the mud.
80dB Class A Microphone preamplifier, HI-LO selectable minimum input impedance, balanced and floating. High gain positions show a higher impedance, ideal for old ribbon mics.

The 73JRII is the 2021 update to the already classic 73JR, a true 73 style mic preamp in a single 500 series slot with some added features that will cover all the recording needs for engineers and musicians that don´t find the need to track with eq.
Employing only discrete circuitry and conventional components, the 73JRII is a faithful 3 stage all class A 73 preamp. Styroflex and tantalum capacitors have been used throughout. No corners were cut.
The useful all discrete class A hi pass filter has been updated, making it sweepable from 20 to 220 Hz. Now it is even easier to make your low end tighter without affecting desired frequencies.
The Line mode allows for reamping of prerecorded tracks and it´s perfect for adding some class A color to lifeless recordings.
The smart switched DI (automatically switches from MIC to DI mode when inserting a MONO ¼” jack) is an all discrete class A JFET circuit ahead of the MIC transformer, so all the juice is there. Since its introduction in 2013, it has become a classic DI for bass.
Finally, special care has been taken with power handling, implementing internal +24v slow turn on regulation (about 20 seconds to reach full voltage). This makes your 500 series enclosure´s power supply healthier and makes the 73JR independent of the rest of the slots.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A 500 SERIES 73 PREAMP:
There are several compromises usually made when adapting a 73 preamp for the 500 Series, especially the following 3. You won´t find any of these in the 73JRII:
Eliminate one gain stage and run only up to 70dB of gain. A “real deal” 73 mic pre must have 3 gain stages for a total of 80dB of gain. Taking the first gain stage out and maxing out the other 2 allows for up to 70 dB of gain, but noise figure and low end at high gain are seriously compromised. The 73JR II uses the full 3 gain stage circuit for up to 80 dB of gain with noise of -125dBu EIN all over the gain positions.
Use the readily available +- 16v power from the 500 Series protocol. By doing this, the magic distortion of a 73 amp is compromised. The 73JR II uses a true 24volt on board power supply for identical performace and distortion point.
Use of surface mount technology. Although there is no actual drawback in using SMD components, it should be reflected in the price, not merely to enlarge the manufacturer´s profit. No 500 Series 73 mic pre using SMD should cost more than $500. The 73JR II uses only discrete, through hole traditional components and hand labor for that great 70s vibe.
When looking for the ultimate 73 500 Series preamp, always make this fact check.
THE 73JR II TRANSFORMERS:
No 73 preamp is such without the correct transformers. For the 73JR II (and its predecessor the 73JR), Heritage Audio went a step further the competition. The output transformer, the same used all along the Heritage´s line of products, is a Carnhill gapped one made exclusively for us in the St Ives factory. The input one, again exclusive to our company, is made in Carnhill´s Oxord factory, and has a big impact on the extra mojo of the unit. It is the same one found in our higher end 80 Series modules and sets one of the main sonically differences in between the 73JR II and the competitors.
When looking for an exclusive sound, do not settle for non-exclusive transformers.
The 73EQ JR is a fully featured Line Input module for the 500 Series.
It not only shares the 3-band Equalizer with his big brother, the 1073, but also shares the same transformer coupled line preamp and Class A transformer balanced output stage.
These facts make the 73EQ JR unique on its class, being able to capture a full transformer based, Class A sound without relying on external preamps.
The Equalizer features the same Baxandall type High and Low shelf found in the 1073, with the addition of a high frequency selector switch. 4 different frequencies are possible instead of the fixed 12Khz one.
The mid band is the same exact dual inductor 1073 one, thick low and sweet high midrange boosts without being muddy or brittle! The line preamp has a range of +6 to -20dB, allowing heavy eq boosts without overloadingA/D converters.
Finally, special care has been taken with power handling, implementing internal +24v slow turn on regulation (about 20 seconds to reach full voltage ). This makes your 73EQ JR independent of the rest of the slots and makes your lunchbox´s PSU happier.

When launched in 1972, the 1081 became the most flexible equalizer ever in a mixing console. Its 4 band equalizer allowed sculpting the sound in such a unique way, mainly due to the fact that both mid bands covered almost the whole audio spectrum in 20 steps. Unfortunately, a class A/B output stage was used instead of the class A one used in the 1073, making it a second choice for tracking in favour of the 1073. Being users of the old modules for 20 years, we always came with the "could it be possible to have a 1081 eq with a 1073 preamp in our console?" question. The answer has been NO, until now... We are proud to introduce the 8173 mic pre- 4 band equalizer module. The name says it all. The best of both worlds in an 8 3/4" module package, fully compatible with Series 80 consoles. It could be easily described as a 1073 with the mid bands of the 1081. We´ve decided to keep the 1073 Baxandall shelving lo and hi eq bands as they sound amazing, but have implemented a choice of 3 hi shelving frecuencies, a la 1084. Flexibility and Tone!!!

The BritStrip combines a real-deal 73 mic preamplifier, an expanded 73 equalizer, a discrete Class-A DI, and the infamous diode bridge compressor from the Heritage Audio SUCCESSOR. This channel strip culminats 50 years of analog design in a single rack unit. BritStrip nails the sound of yesterday’s iconic recordings for today’s demanding engineers.
The mic preamp that meets the demandsThe BritStrip starts with the same preamp as the Heritage Audio 73JR, with a custom input transformer co-designed with Carnhill and exclusively made in the St Ives factory. The preamp also features a custom Carnhill St Ives output transformer, which completes it’s all discrete, Class-A, 3-gain stage design. The preamp features 80 dB of gain, 20dB pad, phase reversal and an impedance switch for 1200 or 300 ohm input.
The discrete Class-A DIThe DI is also taken from the highly acclaimed design found in the Heritage Audio 73JR, an all-discrete Class-A JFET circuit in front of the microphone transformer, giving a broad range of color and weight. The DI also includes a passive thru output to feed a separate amplifier.
An expanded 73 equalizerThe BritStrip eq features 3 Vinkor pot core inductors in the mid band and high pass filter sections. The impact is hard to believe with extreme boosts being exceptionally musical. The mid band is great for sculpting fat and punchy snare, kick, guitars, vocals. No need to be subtle like you would with most eqs — BritStrip doesn’t sound phasey or loses headroom in extreme settings. The inductor-based low-pass filter, directly taken from the 73 design, lets you control out of range low end — without affecting the quality of your desired frequencies. The high and low shelves have been extended to include a bell mode — making them more versatile than ever before.
A SUCCESSOR -like compressorThe diode bridge bus compressor needs little introduction, as it’s the same compressor found in the multi award-nominated Heritage Audio Successor. Diode bridge compression, a 60 year old patent, took on a whole new life with the expanded features and incredible fast attack/release times of the Successor. With BritStrip, this powerful compressor design is perfect to use for tracking, thanks to it’s blend control and elaborate sidechain filter. This gives you plenty of tracking potential, as you can give instruments that “record-ready” dynamics as performers monitor — giving them a finished “real-time feel” as they perform. The compressor section provides plenty of sidechain flexibility, with 5 frequency options, and an external sidechain input. And if that weren’t enough flexibility, 2 BritStrips can have their compressors linked for the ultimate stereo tracking solution.
Routing flexibility. The BritStrip allows for compression and equalizer routing. Eq’ing pre-compression makes the compression detector more sensitive to the boosted frequencies and less sensitive to those cut. Inversely, eqing post compression makes the detector insensitive to the eq settings.

Standing for DUAL TABLETOP 73, it is in essence a reformatted DMA73.The DTT-73 brings a new flavor to the Heritage Audio line of outboard gear, widening the range of application to On Stage use, portable systems, hotel rooms, On Location recordings, etc.
Now musicians are able to give 1073-driven line levels to FOH engineers, using the front panel DI inputs. While on the road they are able to record at the same studio quality level from hotel rooms, etc. Stage microphones can be brought up to line level without using long cable runs. These are just some of the possibilities.
Special care has been taken with the internal worldwide power supply and no noise has been introduced.
New to the range of tabletop units is the implementation of DI THRU jacks for simultaneous use of instrument amplifiers. A ground lift switch prevents any ground loops introducing hum in the audio when using these.

The dual channel HA73X2 ELITE microphone preamplifier is based on the iconic 1073, amplifying any microphone or instrument with vibrant clarity and punch. On driving the input harder it provides the saturated sound as known from a vintage console. With 80dB of gain the HA73X2 is suitable for any type of microphone - condenser, dynamic, or ribbon. The hand wounded Carnhill input and output transformers add warmth, girth, and authority to any sound source - mic, line, or even DI instruments. The separate input and output gain controls make it easy to control the transformer color without overloading the output stage. The DI circuit is ahead of the mic input transformer, perfect for adding some character to DI bass signals on the way in. The HA73X2 offers two channels of classic sound in one rack unit for stereo recordings or two single sources.

The OST-6 V2.0 500 series enclosure is designed for racking any and all 500-series modules and devices, including ‘double wide’ modules and even the most demanding class-A and vacuum tube designs. The OST-6 V2.0 enclosure features Heritage Audio’s On Slot Technology, providing maximum protection, filtering, and isolation to each channel. While most 500-series enclosures on the market have a relatively simple power supply design essentially feeding every channel in parallel, each channel of the OST-6 V2.0 enclosure has its own power supply, individually regulated and isolated from the rest. This ensures that every 500-series module installed will perform at its peak potential, and that no ‘ power hungry’ or even a faulty module will compromise the performance of another. In addition to reducing interference, many 500-series devices actually exhibit lower self-noise and better performance when racked in the OST-6 V2.0 enclosure, specially mic preamps.
A new and exciting feature in the V2.0 model is the Link feature, allowing each channel to be linked over to the next at the push of a button (via back panel), no patch cables required!
As with all Heritage Audio products; the 500 Series OST-6 V2.0 enclosures are built utilizing the most cutting edge methods in manufacturing and design, without ever compromising audio quality or cutting corners.

i73 PRO ONE - 2 x 4 USB-C interface with integrated 73 style preampThe i73® PRO One is the first ever USB-C interface with a built-in pure Class A 73 style preamp. It aims to provide musicians, producers and audio engineers with an easy path to that cherished analog experience that have inspired music creation since the early 70’s. The i73® PRO One incorporates the same Class A transformer-balanced circuitry as the Heritage Audio classic 73 style preamps and provides all that classic mojo and vibe straight from the i73® PRO One to the computer.
As with any of Heritage Audio’s 73 style preamps, a three way input is with true studio quality implemented: A hearty MIC preamp with up to 70dBs of gain, an electric guitar/bass input with a fast, dynamic JFET DI and a clean LINE input.
But a 73 style Class A preamp is only the gate to get to the Full Analog Experience. A low latency monitoring mixing console has been developed from the ground up with an independent configurable mix for speakers and headphones within the Heritage Audio MIXER running inside the i73® PRO One.
An integrated DSP allows realtime processing within Heritage Audio’s MIXER with an ever growing comprehensive set of tools modeled after Heritage Audio’s own outboard and private gear collection. It is also possible to insert third party native plugins via the MIXER’s Aux channels. For later post-processing and maximum flexibility, the WET and DRY signals can be recorded simultaneously in the DAW.
i73® PRO One provides the right tools to monitor audio just like in the Golden Era of recording studios out of the box and capture this sound right into the DAW with the advantage of a modern home studio workflow.
