This series contains the 4060, 4061, 4062, 4063 and 4071 Omni Miniature Mics. Each version is tailored towards a specific application based on sensitivity, voltage and placement needs. They are all based on the original d:screet™ 4060; the very first miniature microphone developed by DPA from the best technology previously only used in hearing aids and measurement microphones. All of the mics in the series share important basic features, but each is optimized for particular applications.
The series was developed to withstand the toughest of conditions. They contain a 5.4 mm diameter pre-polarized condenser element with a vertical diaphragm. This unique, Double Vent Protection System makes the mics greatly resistant to humidity and sweat. These mics are also designed with a Kevlar-reinforced cable relief, which is built to withstand the constant twists, bends and pulls that are part of the everyday use in harsh environments.
The acoustic response of the d:screet™ 4060 Series can be modified by selecting the correct grid for the job. Two grids are supplied with each microphone (not the d:screet™ 4071, which includes a fixed grid). The pre-fitted Soft Boost Grid gives a 3 dB soft boost at 8-20 kHz. It should be used when the microphone is mounted on the performer’s head as well as in most other applications where you need a natural-sounding microphone. When fitted, the High Boost Grid introduces a 10 dB soft boost around 12 kHz for applications where the microphones chest-placement is preferred. Both of these grids are made of anodized stainless steel, giving a tough and scratch resistant surface. They can be detached from the microphone and cleaned of sweat, makeup, etc.
d:screet™ 4060 Miniature Omnidirectional Microphone, Normal SPL
This microphone is small in size, but mighty in flexibility. Due to its miniature size, it exhibits an exceptionally accurate omnidirectional pattern and therefore does not need to be aimed directly at the sound source to achieve quality pickup. The omnidirectional pattern also makes it less sensitive to handling noise as well as pop and wind noise.
We originally designed this microphone for use with wireless systems in theaters but today it is one of the most loved mics for television and film applications as well. It is especially suited for capturing speech in all of its nuances and can be used to close-mike a wide range of instruments. This microphone handles sound pressure levels up to 134 dB before clipping occurs. This mic is well suited for applications where the sound source is more remote or damped and you need to have a good balance signal versus noise.
The d:screet™ 4060 Miniature Omnidirectional Micropone, Normal SPL is available in four colors: black, brown, beige and white. An even more robust, heavy-duty version is also available.
Similar to the d:screet™ 4060 Instrument Microphone Kit, this kit is designed to use as a close-miking solution for a wide variety of musical instruments. The d:screet™ 4061 Miniature Omnidirectional Microphone, Loud SPL offers a very clean, detailed and natural sound quality. This leaves it up to the user to decide on the correct placement to achieve the desired timbre. The mic can handle 144 dB peak before clipping, allowing the microphone to be used even for snare drums, guitar/bass speaker cabinets or other high SPL sound sources. This kit is also perfect for studio use or amplification for live use. There are many accessories included in the kit. It contains holders for strings, universal surface mounts with double-sided tape, a magnet mount and foam windscreens.
d:screet™ 4063 Miniature Omnidirectional Microphone, Loud SPL and Low voltage
The d:screet™ 4063 Miniature Omnidirectional Microphone, Loud SPL and Low voltage is designed for use with transmitters giving only 3V bias voltage. Some transmitters provides only 3V instead of the more common 5V. In this case, the d:screet™ 4063 is the right choice for such transmitters. The mic is acoustically identical to the d:screet™ 4060 Miniature Omnidirectional Microphones but its internal preamplifier in the input stage is designed for working with lower supply voltage. With the correct power source, the microphone will be able to handle sound pressure levels up to 138 dB before clipping occurs. This mic is available in three colors: black, beige and white. An even more robust, heavy-duty version is also available.

The d:screet™ 4071 Miniature Omnidirectional Microphone, Presence Boost is a fantastic lavalier mic, which features a presence boost of typically 5 dB at 4 to 6 kHz. This is critical for a chest-placed microphone because the frequency range of the consonants spoken is damped in this position, which results in poor intelligibility. The d:screet™ 4071 has a boost that maximizes speech intelligibility. This microphone will be able to handle sound pressure levels up to 144 dB before clipping occurs.
When recording voices from mic placement on a performer's body, no frequency below 100 Hz is attractive. For this reason, an acoustical low-cut at 100 Hz has been incorporated in the d:screet™ 4071’s capsule so the built-in preamplifier (and the wireless system) will have a much larger headroom. Furthermore, the low-cut filter removes low-frequency rumble, noise and proximity effect.
Because of its special optimization for speech, this mic is especially appropriate for ENG news crews since very few ENG mixers have the ability to make this type of compensation. It is also a fantastic choice for in-studio reporters or even hidden under clothing for film production use.
The d:screet™ 4071 is available in three colors: black, beige and white. An even more robust, heavy-duty version is also available.

DPA gooseneck microphones have quickly become a very popular choice for podium mics as well as for conference room usage as either tabletop or ceiling mount.
These microphones have, on numerous occasions, been the preferred type to turn to when high speech intelligibility is paramount. This for instance is the fact at parliaments where multiple languages are to be simultaneous interpreted and the interpreters must catch every word and nuances of the spoken word and in a split second deliver the perfect translation. In conference use, boardroom applications and videoconference situations the DPA mics gives you trouble-free installations and delivers pristine, clear sound.
DPA's gooseneck microphone solutions are primarily for the installation segment.
4098 CORE Supercardioid Microphones
CORE by DPA technology has been added to the 4098 microphone, lifting sound quality even more, just like all of the other products using CORE technology. The 4098s dynamic range has been increased by 8 dB, so that the 1% THD is lifted significantly to 133 dB.With very low noise and a high sensitivity, 4098 CORE Supercardioid Microphones offer the most clear, transparent, and natural sound available on the miniature mic market. The mics are capable of handling extremely high SPL before clipping, which allows the mic to deliver high speech intelligibility even when the speaker gets excited and starts to speak VERY loudly. With a linear response, low distortion and an extremely large dynamic range, these mics sound great no matter how challenging the environment. In addition, speaking into the side (off-axis) of the microphone doesn’t make the audio sound worse, it just drops the level of your voice. The 4098 CORE Supercardioid Microphone is available in many variants. It comes in either black or white, with either an XLR or a MicroDot termination and in five lengths ranging from 16 cm (6 in) to 122 cm (48 in).
From the piano to guitar; strings to woodwinds; brass to percussion, the 4099 Series sounds equally impressive on them all. This one microphone model can beautifully reinforce an entire orchestra. DPA 5100 Mobile Surround MicrophonePlug-and-play solutionLightweight and portableRich, smooth and fully enveloping soundDiscrete 5.1 analog output – no processing neededThe DPA 5100 is an exciting new mobile surround microphone whose compact size and ease of use come at no sacrifice to its stunning sound quality. It can be regarded as a surround ambience adder, ideal for bringing truly engaging surround ambience to sport events, documentaries and other ambience applications for especially HDTV production. No external signal processing is required. The versatile 5100 can be mounted on a camera or microphone stand, suspended, or simply handheld via a hand grip. Extremely lightweight and portable, the unit sports a surprisingly robust build quality that is also highly resilient to inclement weather conditions.A completely self-contained “plug and play” solution for 5.1 audio capture, the 5100 employs five miniature pressure transducers that exhibit extremely low sensitivity to wind and mechanical noise, low distortion, highly consistent low frequency response and large dynamic range. Appropriate channel separation and directionality are achieved through a combination of DPA’s proprietary DiPMic™ (Directional Pressure Microphone) technology, which mounts interference tubes on the L/C/R omni capsules, and the use of acoustic baffles that further preserve the accuracy of levels between the discreet analog output channels. The 5100’s three front microphones are time coincident to eliminate comb filtering and ensure paramount frequency consistency when downmixing to stereo or mono. In contrast, the rear microphones, which feature standard omnidirectional patterns, are optimally spaced from both each other and the front array to simulate the most natural time arrival differences. The LFE (.1) channel is comprised from a L/R sum, which is then attenuated 10 dB in comparison with the signal from the main channels, in accordance with the 5.1 format. The end result of DPA’s innovative design approach is a surround atmosphere that is rich, smooth and fully enveloping, great in its coherence, channel separation and localization accuracy. The 5.1 output of the 5100 runs through a multi-pin Lemo connector carrying all six channels electronically balanced, while an enclosed five-meter (16 ft), six-pair Mogami cable breaks out to six Neutrik XLR-M connectors.
